Job Title: Field Service Technician
Start date: ASAP
Location: Ottawa, Gatineau and surrounding areas - candidates must live in Ottawa or Gatineau area

Pay rate: $24.00 + $0.55/km
Shift Schedule: 3-week shift rotation, Week 1: 8 am – 4:30 pm, Week 2: Weekends, 12:30 pm – 11 pm, Week 3: 8 am – 4:30 pm with standby to 11 pm



***Techs will be trained on the job and depending on how well they pick it up it could be 2-3 weeks. ***



Overview:
Join our client’s dynamic service team for this entry-level field service position.  Depending on your assigned territory, you will provide services, repairs and technical maintenance for ATMs, retail POS equipment, Electric Vehicle Charging (EVC), locksmithing, plus related PC peripherals on customer premises.  Our client also provides training that consists of on-the-job mentoring as you might expect, but also formal classroom, virtual and self-paced training for extensive learning opportunities.

 


Responsibilities:
  • Performing maintenance on ATMs (e.g., card reader, printer, reset and test devices, etc.).
  • Electromechanical repair.
  • Performing basic installation functions (e.g., set up and test equipment, pulling cables, mounting devices, installing
  • locks)
  • Performing technical fixes such as clearing paper jams, card jams, bill jams, etc.
  • Inspecting products for correct operation resolving noted issues and escalating according to established
  • procedures
  • Prioritizing and planning service calls
  • Works within a team environment, completes all required paperwork, manages, and maintains service parts inventory
  • Contacting the customer with the estimated time of arrival
  • Working with customers to ensure satisfaction with service delivery and understanding of product functionality
  • Following key/alarm/combination control processes in assigned area of responsibility


Qualifications:
  • Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, OR related field of study
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) 
  • Up to a year of related experience (but previous experience in ATMs or similar equipment is always a plus).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows XP, and Windows 2000.
  • Amazing flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • Your team in mind, even when you must work solo.
